Even though the Chiefs won the Super Bowl 31-20, congratulations by the way. One of the crucial plays in the big game seemed all too familiar to all Lions fans.
San Francisco 49ers defensive back Tarvarious Moore for ‘faceguarding’ Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce in the endzone.
It did look like an obvious pass interference penalty call, but for Detroit Lion fans, it seems like a double standard.
One of those big calls against the Lions came in the playoffs against the Dallas Cowboys a few years ago, as linebacker Anthony Hitchens (who’s playing for the Chiefs tonight) committed the call against Detroit.
However, the flag was picked up, leaving fans angered and feeling like they got screwed. They would eventually lose to Dallas, 24-20.
Hitchens was also involved in a recent dust-up in controversial pass interference against the Lions again, he ‘faceguarded’ Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay in one of those plays.
Just something to keep in mind in the near future.
