The Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers are nearing a trade.
With Ricky Rubio dealing with a season-ending knee injury, the Cavaliers are close to acquiring veteran Rajon Rondo from the Lakers.
Rondo’s second stint with the Lakers wasn’t a successful one, as he only played in 18 games and averaged 3.8 points with 3.7 assists.
Rondo was on the Lakers team two seasons ago that won the 2020 NBA Finals and returned to the Lakers this season after spending the 2020-21 season with the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers.
With the Lakers off to a 17-19 start and as the seventh seed in the Western Conference, they have been off to a disappointing start to the year and could look to retool the team, as now team can make trades with one another.
