As the bulls dominated round one of the US Border Patrol Invitational, fans inside the Enterprise Center in St. Louis were in for a treat in getting a bonus round after the long round completed.

The backdrop of so few rides in the long round set the stage for top 15 world-ranked bull riders competing against the top bulls of the event.

One of the biggest shocks of the bonus round was the ride that came from a rising bull riding star from New York. 20-year-old bull riding sensation Daylong Swearingen has several accolades to his name in his brief career and now has added a bonus round victory to the list.

On paper, his pairing with I’m Legit Too (9-4) in the bonus round was a great matchup.

The US Border Patrol-sponsored rider took his wrap and nodded for the gate to open, and I’m Legit Too exploded out of the chute with the young Swearingen securely seated on the bulls back, opening his leg to show the judges that he was in control as the 8-second whistle blew. The judges did not take long to compile the scores, and the crowd let out a raucous roar when it was announced there was leader board change with a 91.75 point ride.

Check out the awesome ride below:

The ride shows several reasons why Daylon was a top contender for Rookie of the Year last year and that the young rider cannot be overlooked as a contender for the world title race this year.

It will be interesting to see if Daylon can take the momentum from the victory from this 15/15 Bucking Battle into Kansas City’s 15/15 Bucking Battle.
