While Tom Brady is locked in for a couple more years in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers seem to be adding to the depth charts at the quarterback position. It was reported yesterday by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times that the Bucs intend on signing Veteran quarterback Blaine Gabbert as a backup to Tom Brady.
With Andy Dalton signing with the Chicago Bears earlier this year, that now leaves Dak Prescott without a backup quarterback. Garrett Gilbert did sign a two year deal with Dallas, but he has very little regular season playing time. Dallas Head Coach Mike McCarthy recently said the club has had conversations with some veteran free agents and they’ll continue to evaluate that spot. Although they have not signed anyone just yet, there has been speculation among Cowboys fans that Dallas will draft a quarterback in the later rounds of the NFL Draft. While that doesn’t help bring in any veteran experience, try could certainly find a diamond in the rough that could be a suitable backup to Prescott.
Dallas and Tampa Bay aren’t the only teams with quarterback news. The Pittsburgh Steelers also just signed a nee deal with a quarterback. What does this mean for Ben Roethlisberger? Find out who in the article below!
