Bryce Harper's Ejection was An Absolute Joke

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper was ejected after striking out in the first inning against the Colorado Rockies in last night’s 3-2 loss.

Harper was not happy about a pitch that was thrown low and inside. This made the count 0-2. He struck out on the next pitch.

Harper spiked his helmet in disgust and was having what appeared to be a normal conversation and umpire Brian Walsh tossed him. Harper was shocked over the ejection.

The exchange seemed to be a normal conversation. Harper being ejected was totally unnecessary and uncalled for. The umpire was out of line.

Fans do not pay to attend or watch on the TV’s for the umpire. Harper was not trying to get ejected. He was basically having a conversation.

After the game, Harper commented about the ejection.”No I mean I wasn’t really that upset,” Harper said. “I mean, obviously, I spiked my helmet, but that wasn’t in frustration from the call. And then I just kind of asked him, ‘Hey, I don’t believe that was a strike, but where do you have it? Just so I know,’ as per si.com.

To me, this is a clear case of an insecure umpire. Harper is clearly just having a discussion. The umpire needs to have thicker skin.
