Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper won his fourth career NL Silver Slugger Award.
It was the third time Harper has won the award with the Phillies and his first as a first baseman.
Harper hit 30 home runs with 87 RBI and had a .285 batting average in 145 games this season. He also had 42 doubles and had an OPS of .898.
The 32 year-old Harper beat out both Pete Alonso of the New York Mets and Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who were also nominated at first base.
Harper moved to first base from right field in 2023 to fill in the void left by Rhys Hoskins, who’s season ended with an injury.
By moving to first base, Kyle Schwarber was able to move to the DH spot, where Harper was occupying while recovering from off season Tommy John surgery.
Harper has won the NL MVP award two times in his career. He won it 2021 with the Phillies.
