The New York Yankees completed a three game sweep over the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-5 win this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park.
Phillies star Bryce Harper, who went 0-for-5 on the day, grounded into a game-ending double play in the ninth.
It’s the first time that the Phillies have been swept at home since July of 2022 against the Cubs.
Harper is the worst slump of his career. He is 1 for his last 30 and really struggling in the batter’s box. In the 3 game series against the Yankees, Harper went 0-for-14.
The Phillies are really struggling, since the All-Star. There hitting, fielding, pitching and base running have been awful.
Major League teams go through bad stretches and players go through slumps, the Phillies need to find a way out of it.
Harper is a star player, who is in a bad slump, and the Phillies usually go the way he goes. He will find a way out of it. Hopefully, it’s soon.
