Bryce Harper Conserving Energy To Benefit His Health And The Phillies Success

Philadelphia Phillies superstar Bryce Harper has one of the most violent swings in Major League Baseball. His swing puts a tremendous torque on his back.

Local media has taking to criticize the star about hustling. Harper has been known to play the game 110% when running to first base in the past. This season, there have been instances when he hasn’t busted it out of the batter’s box.

Phillies Manager Rob Thomson offered some clarification on the issue. “Well, the other day was on his first swing of the day he kind of, he didn’t tweak anything, he just felt something in his knee. He’s fine,” Thomson revealed, as per Tim Kelly of philliesnation.com.

“But I checked in with him and and I said ‘Just make sure you can finish this game,’” Thomson added. “He’s probably taking care of some energy too at the same time.”

Harper is looking to find a balance of when to run like his hair is on fire and when to hold back. Former Phillies star Chase Utley played a hustling style day in and day out.

Utley ‘s body paid a price for that style of play. He began to break and miss many games. Utley ‘s elite level of play took a considerable drop in his early thirties.

The Phillies need a healthy Harper in their lineup everyday. He is the Phillies best players and one of the players in baseball. The Lineup is deadly, when Harper is in the middle of it.
