The WWE Performance Center is always looking for new recruits, especially of the second-generation. Bronson Rechsteiner, who was a very successful collegiate football player at Kennesaw State, was cut by the Ravens recently. His path to the NFL wasn’t likely, considering his competition was Pro Bowler Pat Ricard.

Rechsteiner has a tremendous look and is extremely athletic for his size. Plus, his ties to the WWE run deep: his father is a former WWE Tag Team Champion. The Steiner Brothers, Rick and Scott, were one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history, even if the WWE rarely mentions them. His father Rick and Uncle Scott dominated competition in JCP, WCW and NJPW. Perhaps they’re best known though for their WWE run which happened from 1992-1994. They left following a contractual dispute. His Uncle Scott was the more successful of the two, having had a singles championship run in WCW before returning to the WWE at the 2002 Survivor Series.

Dave Meltzer of WON is now reporting that Rechsteiner had a WWE tryout recently. Bronson had worked previous independent shows but is still rather inexperienced at only 23 years of age. He made his debut in August.

It is not noted how the tryout went.
