Earlier this evening, Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard was terminated from her Impact Wrestling contract. In a statement to PWInsider, Impact Wrestling announced that it has “terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship. This news comes a few weeks after Fightful Select reported Blanchard was in hot water with Impact management, as she failed to send in a requested promo for television. In the article by PWInsider, it states that Blanchard’s contract expired before Impact’s Slammiversary PPV, and they had attempted multiple times to have Blanchard drop the title prior to the expiration date to no avail.

Blanchard was originally scheduled to defend the Impact World Title at Impact’s Slammiversary PPV against the likes of Ace Austin, Trey, Eddie Edwards, and Michael Elgin, who was pulled from the match earlier this week after allegations were leveled against him during the #SpeakingOut movement. With two major competitors now out of this match, it will be interesting to see what Impact does to crown a new World Champion.

Potentially more importantly though, with Blanchard now a free agent, speculation runs rampant of what her next move will be. The most logical choice would seem to be AEW, where her father Tully Blanchard works. AEW has been in desperate need of a huge woman’s star, and Blanchard would fit that bill. However, it is also possible she makes the big jump to WWE/NXT, where she would surely be positioned as one of their top stars.

Where would you like to see Tessa Blanchard go to next? Who do you believe will win the vacant Impact World Championship?
