Tonight the New England Patriots head to Detroit to take on the Detroit Lions. And this morning Adam Schefter reported that during the off season the Lions and Patriots completed a trade for star TE Rob Gronkowski otherwise known as, Gronk. And when Gronk was informed he threatened to retire.
Per ESPN: “Gronkowski even declined to return the Lions’ calls, despite the fact that former Patriots executive Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia were leading the Detroit organization.
It was at that point that Gronkowski and Patriots officials met, with the two sides discussing a plan for the Pro Bowl tight end to continue playing — but only in New England.
The Patriots then called off any proposed trade with the Lions, leaving Detroit disappointed.”
Patriots and Lions nearly completed a blockbuster trade in the week of the NFL draft that would have sent Rob Gronkowski to Detroit, per sources. Now Gronkowski is in Detroit to play the Lions tonight.https://t.co/Dn0DEHWmAu

As a Lions fan this is somewhat disappointing to hear, but honestly…. tonight, when he end’s up losing (but I recommend you pick him up in FanDuel) people are going to rub this in his face so bad… wait never mind, it’s Detroit. The franchise of 💍’s.
Detroit. The franchise that players retire from before they’re even on their roster. Go Lions! Ps.. Play $5 in FanDuel and get $20 FREE!
