The waiting is finally over.

Bryce Harper, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies. He joins Jean Segura, JT Realmuto, David Robertson, Juan Nicasio and Andrew McCutchen as notable acquisitions this offseason.

According to Jeff Passan, the deal is 13 years. He will be paid $330M over the duration of the contract, with zero opt-outs. He’ll make an AAV of $25 million, which is far below his original $30M a year asking price. The largest AAV free agent contract ever signed still belongs to Manny Machado. The highest AAV for a position player in any contract now belongs to Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado. For Bryce, this is the most overall money ever in a baseball contract. All 3 deals were signed in February of this year.

According to MLB.com’s Jon Paul Morosi, there is a full no-trade clause. Harper will likely be stuck in Philadelphia until age 39.

Bryce has hit .279 over his first 7 big league seasons, all with division rival Washington Nationals. He was the 2015 NL MVP, and has a .900 lifetime OPS. The 6x All-Star won the 2018 Homerun Derby.
