Last week, it was reported that an interracial teenage girl had her face, neck and upper body suffered second- and third-degree burns after being lit on fire by a group of white men.

The victim, 18-year-old Althea Bernstein, suffered those burns from the group of four men after they sprayed her with lighter fluid at a stoplight, lit her on fire in the car, and called her the n-word multiple times.

“Its totally unacceptable given everything that is going in the country,” Michael Johnson, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County said. “I hope the police apprehend these individuals. We live in a time in America that we should be showing empathy and love.”

The heinous incident is now being investigated as hate crime.

It is a clear hope that we hope that those men get what they deserve after pulling the stunt on someone like that. Especially to an interracial girl Bernstein.

And given what our society is going through especially with the murder of George Floyd in the hands of police custody last month, this is very unacceptable at this point.
