Online sportsbook Betway has reached an agreement to sponsor North American Esports organization Beastcoast. It’s a one-year pact that will see the Malta-based online sports betting site further its move into the world of Esports sponsorship.

Betway will sponsor Beastcoast’s Peruvian-based Dota 2 team. The agreement provides Betway with jersey branding rights, as well as allowing the sportsbook to gain player access for promotional purposes.

“Beastcoast are the dominant force in South American DOTA 2 and therefore a natural choice to join the Betway family,” Adam Savinson, Head of Esports at Betway, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to share our innovative approach to Esports sponsorships with one of the most passionate and dedicated fan bases in the industry.”

The Beastcoast Dota 2 team is considered to be among the elite from the South American region. They recorded a 7-8th finish in 2019 and The International. They’ve banked more than $160,000 in prize earnings as well.

Betway is one of the most active sponsors in the Esports industry and Beastcoast recognizes what their brand can mean to the growth of their team.

“We’re excited to make waves across the Peruvian DOTA 2 scene with our new partnership with Betway,” Nick Valencia, Vice President, Sales and Partnerships at Beastcoast, said in a statement. “Our players have turned Beastcoast into an Esports team that fans across the country love and root for in every major event.

“With Betway’s support we’ve already made plans to release more of the content our fans love. We’re very happy to be able to give our fans never-before-seen access to our players. We’ve got so much more planned with Betway over the course of our partnership, and we wish we could share it with you all now. Our upcoming launch and show match are just the beginning, stay tuned.”

Last year, Beastcoast had a one-year sponsorship deal in place with Esports-only sportsbook Rivalry.
