When Ben Roethlisberger was injured early last season, he vowed that he would not trim his beard until he could throw an NFL worthy pass:

He announced via the @steelers twitter account that he was ready to go and was ripping it up with his teammates:

In the video, Big Ben is seen in a barber’s chair, finally getting his beard trimmed. This upset Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, to an extent. Wolf said of the incident

“My concern is just a general concern. Anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something that I think we have to try to avoid. When you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care who you are, the chances of that virus actually wreaking havoc on your life increases.

“I don’t personally think any Pennsylvanian ought to take that chance. I certainly don’t want to take that chance myself.”

This doesn’t seem like a huge deal, but obviously this is 2020 so of course it was a big deal on social media. So much of a big deal in fact, that a lawyer had to come out with a statement defending the barber’s decision to cut Ben’s hair and beard:

This year is getting stranger by the day.

Hopefully we can see some kind of normalcy once (if) football returns.
