Last year’s COVID-19 pandemic forced the Indy 500 to not have any fans or tailgate parties in attendance at the track, grandstands or infield, but this year it will be different. Just ask Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

On Twitter, the ‘El Presidente’ has decided that he is planning to head to the Indy 500 in Indianapolis after asking his followers if the race is fun to go to or not.

Guess you can say the ‘Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ could have a new fan if Portnoy is satisfied with his surroundings. He has had some good experiences in auto racing before as he landed a sponsorship with NASCAR Cup Series driver Matt DiBeneditto for a few races in 2019.

With the Indianapolis Motor Speedway now allowing 135,000 fans (approximately 40% capacity), Portnoy has hinted that there could be a huge party for the fans thrown by the Barstool gang after they missed out on the race live last year.

As the race is set for Sunday, May 30th, hopefully the El Presidente walks away hooked with IndyCar racing after hearing these sounds go by quite a few times.
