The entire community of L’Anse in Baraga County is paying tribute to the two boys who passed away Monday afternoon and to a girl who is currently battling for her life.

Many tributes for Dylan Roberts, Christopher Turpeinen, and Hunter Pelon were draped all over the school today, including in tonight’s girls basketball game against Wakefield-Marenisco. Many students attended the game dressed in a flannel shirt, in tribute to Roberts and Turpeinen.

The game was also Parent’s Night for senior basketball players and band members. A moment of silence and dedication to Roberts, Turpeinen, and Pelon took place prior to the Varsity game.

The Baraga Vikings Athletic page, who is the biggest rival to L’Anse shared this during the game:

The Keweenaw Report said in their article that the admission prices were waived off for tonight and donations were accepted towards aid for the families. The athletic boosters donated their portion to the families as well.

L’Anse basketball players Addison Mattson and Kailyn Voskuhl offered their tributes before the game started in this memorial videos by Todd Overbeek down below.

After tonight’s game, the Baraga County Catholic Community are having a Eucharistic Adoration for Pelon’s recovery and to repose the souls of Roberts and Turpeinen. Everyone was invited to attend.

Pelon is currently battling for her life at a hospital in Green Bay. Please keep the family, classmates, and entire community in your thoughts and prayers.
