A bar owner in the Los Angeles suburbs is currently going viral tonight after a video captures her rant of a patio being built across her saloon (which is closed), while mayor Eric Garcetti’s COVID-19 rules are in place.

In a video tweet posted by Jake Coco and shared by the likes of Clay Travis and Robby Starbuck, the owner of the Pineapple Hill Saloon in Sherman Oaks, explains and shows an outdoor patio that was built (and approved by Garcetti) to help with a movie company next door.

However, she says her building is shut down and closed due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders Garcetti put up for businesses to begin with. That order began this past Monday.

The stay-at-home order affecting for the city includes prohibiting gatherings outside immediate households (except for for religious services and protests). The new order has also prohibited outdoor dining to take place at bars/restaurants (indoor dining was already banned prior).

Along with in-person retail businesses to open, the order also allows music and television production to be open as well.

“I’m losing everything, everything I own is being taken away from me and they set up a movie company right next to my outdoor patio,” the visibly upset owner said. “And people wonder why I’m protesting and why I’ve had enough.”

“Tell me that this dangerous, and that (this is a slap to my face) this is safe,” she added. “They have not given us money, and the staff can not survive.”

She would go on to end the video telling viewers that they need her help and how she believes mayor Garcetti and California governor Gavin Newsom is responsible for every state establishment’s employment and how residents don’t have a job.

This is the type of stuff that makes me angry and disgusted. Example being how some states’ governments can pick and choose what businesses shall remain open or be declared ‘essential’ or ‘non-essential.’

As with someone who has ties (through both family and friends) that work for and have endorsed small businesses and establishments, I am completely heartbroken for this woman.

I truly hope that she gets the help that she needs before it is too late.
