Alright, alright, alright.

Is Matthew McConaughey about to step into the ring?

Well, he played it fairly coy when asked about it on Maria Menounos’ podcast/show “Better Together.” As transcribed from AfterBuzz to FightFul:

“I’ll say… not too much, because as you know, you can’t say too much about these things, but it is, uh, it is something that interests me…”

This was followed up with both smirking. The clip is at the 1:44:05 mark.

As always, I like to give Fightful.com a shout out because they do excellent work. Credit to them for these quotes. Now for the actual words here, I think Matthew McConaughey may know something we don’t know. Keep in mind a few things here that just may lead us to the actor having a WWE match down the road.

First off, he is a fan! This isn’t some dude wanting to cash in on an appearance without much of a care in the world. This wouldn’t be just a nice WrestleMania sized paycheck for him. He has talked about his fandom before, so it isn’t anything new. The man showed up front row at an event in summer 2019. I love it when actual fans in the mainstream world get involved with WWE. You can usually tell immediately if the person legitimately wants to be there or not.

Secondly, moving away from everything I just said, he is indeed making the media rounds right now. Obviously, as this post is based on a podcast quote. He’s promoting his new book Greenlights. I haven’t read it, but my brother has. Thus, I’m sure his agent is looking for opportunities. Opportunities like talk shows, podcasts, television, etc. Hey, it all lines up, especially because thirdly…

…he just appeared on WWE Raw!

On October 26th, 2020, the only and one Matthew McConaughey was in the crowd (ThunderDome) cheering on ‘The Stud’ Drew McIntyre. Sure, it was just a quick cameo with no followup, but the seeds were planted. Sometimes in pro wrestling, we get little tiny clues into future story lines. Foreshadowing if you will.

What say you? Is this really going to happen?
