After the contract restructuring of quarterback Jared Goff, the Detroit Lions used some of the freed up money to sign New Orleans Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone to a one-year deal.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the deal is for $1.75 million.

Anzalone comes to Detroit after spending his first four seasons in New Orleans, where Lions new head coach Dan Campbell served as the assistant head coach for the Saints during his tenure.

In his career, the former third-round pick out of Florida currently has 123 total tackles, three forced fumbles, and one interception.

The signing indicates a temporary fix for the linebacking corps, which has now lost Jarrad Davis to the New York Jets and Christian Jones, who has reunited with the Chicago Bears.
