Alec Bohm And Kyle Schwarber Lead The Phillies To Victory Over The Orioles

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 in 11 innings last night. It was matchup of two of the best teams in Major League Baseball.

The Phillies fan base traveled in droves to Baltimore to watch their team battle the Orioles in a great pitching matchup. Ranger Suarez took the mound for the Phillies and Kyle Bradish for the Orioles.

Slugger Kyle Schwarber led off the game with a home run and Alec Bohm ‘s two-run double lifted the Phillies to a series opening win.

Phillies starter Ranger Suarez went 6 2/3 innings giving up one run. Rafael Marchán hit a homer in the fifth to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead.

Phillies relief pitcher Matt Strahm gave up his first earned run since Opening Day on a home run to Anthony Santander that tied the game.

After a rain delay of over an hour, the Phillies pulled off a great extra innings victory. The Phillies are now 25 games over .500 with a 47-22 record. They have a nine game over the second place Atlanta Braves.

The Phillies are sending Taijan Walker to the mound to face Grayson Rodriguez for today’s 4:05 pm matchup.
