Albert Haynesworth, after an alleged verbal incident with his ex-girlfriend, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct in Cleveland, Tennessee on Monday afternoon. The police reported no physical violence and no weapons on the scene, but after multiple attempts to calm him down were unsuccessful, the cops arrested the former NFL player.

Haynesworth, age 39, reportedly drove two and a half hours to the home of his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend, according to reports from TMZ and ESPN. His ex-girlfriend is Brittany Jackson, who had a four-year stint with Lady Volunteers as a woman’s basketball player and eventually went on to play for the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA after short stints with the Women’s National Basketball League, a Turkish basketball league, and a Polish basketball league.

Haynesworth is most notable for his team spent with the Tennessee Titans, where he played from 2002 to 2008 in which he got selected to two Pro Bowls (2007 and 2008) along with two All-Pro teams (2007 and 2008). After his time with Tennessee, he signed a massive contract with the Washington Football Team (then known as Washington Redskins). After lasting only two years (2009 and 2010) in Washington due to coaching conflict, laziness, and overall disastrous results, he was traded to New England, where he last four months (July 2011 to November 2011). He was then placed on waivers and briefly claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but shortly found himself out of the league altogether.

As of Tuesday, Haynesworth was not being held at the Bradley County Justice Center, according to an official that spoke to ESPN. ESPN’s attempts to reach a lawyer that previously represented Haynesworth were unsuccessful.
