AEW Rampage: CM Punk beats Daniel Garcia, will take on Matt Sydal next week

Since CM Punk has returned to professional wrestling and arrived in AEW in August, he has been all about wrestling against the younger talent.

On Friday night’s edition of AEW Rampage, Punk had his third match of his AEW tenure; this one against Daniel Garcia, who is being built up as another young star.

This match could have been the main event given Punk’s star power, but as AEW has been doing with a lot of their shows, Punk and Garcia kicked off the show.

Garcia and Punk wrestled a tremendous match, as Garcia is being built as a young star in the making considering he has already wrestled established stars like Darby Allin and Jon Moxley, and his efforts against Punk were on display.

In the end, Punk locked in his other finishing hold, the Anaconda Vice, for the submission victory.

Next week, Punk will take on someone he used to work with a long time ago in WWE in Matt Sydal.

Sydal was Evan Bourne in WWE and the two are no strangers to each other.

They are no strangers to each other and given how Punk’s first three matches have gone, Punk and Sydal should have a great match on Rampage.
