Aaron Rodgers wants to play in 2025, but reportedly not for the New York Jets, as per Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Rodgers could end up on injured reserve or benched in the next few weeks. The Jets are having a disasterous season. They currently have a record of 3-8.
The four-time NFL MVP has thrown for 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 11 starts.
The Jets have been a dumpster fire all season and Rodgers has been the center of it.
The Jets acquired Rodgers’ friend WR Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders and the move has not paid off. The Jets are a dismal 1-4 since the trade.
They fired GM Joe Douglas just six weeks after parting ways with Head Coach Robert Saleh.
After firing Saleh, the Jets promoted Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to interim Head Coach. Ulbrich immediately demoted Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and promoted Todd Downing to the post.
The Jets entered the 2024 season with high expectations for Rodgers and hoping for a Super Bowl championship. The Jets are actually having a worse season this year with Rodgers than they had in 2023.
This should be an interesting week of media appearances for Rodgers, who has always been outspoken. For all of his talent, he is one of the strangest players in the NFL.
