The Yankees did it!

The Yankees finally won another game after the awful series in Philly where the Yankees lost 8-7 and 7-0. Today they started their Toronto series in Buffalo, NY. The Blue Jays have been playing Buffalo for the past two seasons due to Covid Issues and the border being shut down.

The first game of the series did not start off too hot for the Yankees going down 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th inning coming off a passed ball and a Bo Bichette 2RBI single on Jordan Montgomery. Yankees get a run back in the 6th off of a Miguel Andujar ground out. An inning later making it a one run game Brett Gardner hits his 2nd homerun of the year to right field on Anthony Castro. Also in the 7th inning DJ LeMahieu scores off a wild pitch tying the game up 5-5. In the Top of The 8th Andjuar hits a single but in comes Boone’s favorite Tyler Wade to pinch run. After the substitution Boone puts in Clint Frazier to pinch-hit for Brett Gardner. Almighty Clint Frazier ropes a double to left field and Tyler wade scores to give the Yankees a 6-5 lead where they would maintain that lead for the rest of the game. Things did get a little scary for the Yankees in the bottom of the 8th where Zack Britton comes into the game and loads up the bases due to him struggling with his command. But thankfully he doesn’t blow the game and gets out of the inning.

Notable Moments from the game Chris Gittens gets his first MLB hit which was a HR. Gittens almost did the same thing back in the Twins series but it was called a foul ball. Another notable moment is Chapman finally came into the game and didn’t blow it so he earns his 13th save of the year.

The Yankees will be back at it in Buffalo tomorrow for game two of the series where Gerrit Cole takes the mound. All eyes will be on this game because this is Cole’s first outing since the MLB said they will be suspending pitchers 10 games who are caught with pine tar or any other sticky substance.
