The Chicago Bears have fired Head Coach Matt Eberflus today after yesterday’s disasterous Thanksgiving day loss, as per the New York Post.
The Bears suffered their sixth straight loss and drop to 4-8 on the season. The Detroit Lions defeated them 23-20.
Yesterday, NFL fans witnessed the worst clock management in the history of the NFL. Eberflus didn’t take accountability for the loss during his post game press conference.
Trailing by 3 points, the Bears offense ran the clock from 32 seconds down to six seconds with one timeout left and QB Caleb Williams threw an incomplete pass to WR Rome Odunze as time expired.
It was the worst case of clock management ever and definitely was coaching malpractice.
The Bears promoted Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown to interim Head Coach for the rest of the season.
The firing marks the first time in Bears franchise history they’ve parted with a Head Coach in the middle of a season.
Eberflus finished his time as Bears Head Coach with a 14-32 record.
