Philadelphia Eagles third-year Tight End Grant Calcaterra has done great job of filling in for starter Dallas Goedert.
Goedert missed the last two games after getting leaving the game against the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury.
Calcaterra has eight catches for 130 yards in the last 3 games. He caught three passes for 58 in the Eagles 37-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8.
The Eagles selected Calcaterra in the sixth round of the 2022 draft and now in his third season he has arrived.
Calcaterra has made some big plays as a pass-catcher and been solid as a run-blocker. He has built a good rapport with QB Jalen Hurts.
For the season, Calcaterra has 12 catches for 186 yards with 15.5 yards per catch average.
Goedert’s status for this week is still unknown. His practice availability will determine whether he’s ready or not.
If Goedert is unable to go the Eagles are in really good hands with Calcaterra. The Eagles face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
