Saquon Barkley And The Eagles Defense Shine In Victory Over The Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants 28-3 in Saquon Barkley’s return to MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Barkley played the first six years of his career with the Giants before signing as a free agent with the back in March.
In first game against his old team, Barkley rushed for 176 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown. His 55-yard run set up the Eagles first touchdown.
Barkley also has a 38-yard run that set up another Eagles touchdown. He was dominant all day while leading the Eagles to their fourth win of the season.
For the second week in a row, the Eagles defense was dominant. They have not allowed a touchdown in their last 8 quarters of play.
They recorded 8 sacks and held the Giants to just 119 total yards. Jalen Carter and Nakobe Dean each had two sacks to lead the way.
Nolan Smith Jr., Josh Sweat, Bryce Huff and Jalyx Hunt also had sacks, as the Eagles pass rush feasted all day.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown had 5 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown on a beautiful 41 yard pass from QB Jalen Hurts.
Hurts finished the day with 10 completions on 14 attempts for 114 yards with one passing touchdown and 2 rushing touchdowns.
The Eagles go on the road to face the Cincinnati Bengals at 1pm next Sunday.
