Eagles Thoroughly Embarrassed By The Buccaneers

The Philadelphia Eagles were defeated 33-16 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon to drop to 2-2 on the season.

It was an absolutely horrible performance by the Eagles in Tampa Bay. I know that they were down some top players, but that’s no excuse.

The Eagles were poorly coached and poorly prepared to play this game and the effort by the players was unacceptable.

The Eagles defense missed tackles and could not get any pressure Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield, as he completely shredded them.

The offense was a complete disaster, except for RB Saquon Barkley. QB Jalen Hurts played a really bad game.

On the first play of the game, Hurts overthrew a wide open Barkley and it didn’t get any better from there.

Hurts completed 18 of 30 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown. He also had 20 yards rushing with a touchdown. Hurts missed too many throws and had a very costly fumble early in the second half.

On a day, where the offense could not muster a first down over the first three possessions, the only bright spots were Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert.

Barkley had 10 carries for 84 yards and two catches for 32 yards. He had a big 59 yard to start the second half. Goedert had 7 catches for 62 yards.

The Eagles defense made Mayfield look like Tom Brady or Joe Montana. He completed 30 of 47 passes for 347 yards with 2 touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.

Buccaneers receivers were open all day. Mike Evans caught 8 passes for 94 yards with a touchdown.

The Eagles defense could not generate any type of pass rush and the defensive backs played too far off the receivers.

The performance on Sunday was reminiscent of last year’s 32-9 ugly loss to the Buccaneers in the Wild Card playoff loss.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni had this team unprepared for this game. Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio has been a disappointment. I don’t see what the hype about him is.

Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore came out with a bad game plan and he has been less than advertised so far

This bye week is coming at a good time. Get healthy and regroup. The coaching staff and players both needs to be a helluva lot better.
