Trevor Lawrence Benching Hinted At By Jaguars Head Coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars were blown out 47-10 by the Buffalo Bills last night to drop to 0-3 on the season.

The Jaguars struggled in Monday night’s beat down on the road. Franchise QB and former number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL pick, Trevor Lawrence, was 21-of-38 passing for 178 yards and a touchdown with an interception while also getting sacked four times.

Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson was asked about the current situation of his team, responded with:

“There has to be changes, whether it’s play design, personnel, everything,” Pederson said following Jacksonville’s 47-10 loss, as per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

“Everything’s on the table, let’s call it, and those are all things that I have to look at, we have to look at as a staff and make the adjustments,” Pederson added.

The Jaguars are actually winless in Lawrence’s last eight starts at QB. His last win was in Week 12, 2023, at Houston.

Lawrence led the Jaguars to the playoffs two years ago and engineered a comeback down 27-0 for his only postseason win.

The Jaguars signed Lawrence to a five-year extension deal worth $275 million in June to be the face of the franchise.

Lawrence has been regressing since the middle of last season and is now playing with a lack of confidence.

Lawrence’s regression may cost Pederson his job. Not only is the Head Coach, but also the offensive play-caller.

Things are looking really ugly in Jacksonville and it looks like it could result in the benching of Trevor Lawrence.
