The Phillies Are Scuffling Big-Time

The Philadelphia Phillies were clobbered by the New York Yankees 14-4 last night in the opening game of their 3 game series at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies are leaking oil and have not played well since before the All-Star break. The offense, fielding, base running and pitching has been lackluster.

The Yankees superstars lit up ace Zack Wheeler. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto teed off on Philies pitchers.

The Phillies star-studded expensive lineup couldn’t do anything. Bryce Harper and Trea Turner are struggling over the few games.

I know that over 162 games, that you have peaks and valleys. I always look at the Major Baseball season, as that you’re going to win games and you’re going to lose 50 games. Your record is determined by the other 62 games.

I am sure that the Phillies will break out soon, but can they go back to playing baseball the way they were over the first few months?

Right now, this team just doesn’t look right. Manager Rob Thomson has to light a fire under them. I have my doubts about him.

It’s up to Harper, Turner, Schwarber, Wheeler and Nola to get this thing back on the right track.
