Cooper DeJean Is The Eagles Most Intriguing Draft Pick
The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to the 40th spot in this year’s NFL Draft to select Defensive Back Cooper DeJean in the second round.
DeJean was projected by many Draft pundits to go in the first round. The Eagles selected cornerback Quinyon Mitchell with 22nd overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft
The Eagles selected two of the top cornerbacks in the Draft with their first two picks. The secondary was in need of an upgrade, after last year’s dreadful performance against the pass in 2023.
DeJean was a star player at Iowa, where he was a member of one of college football’s top defenses. He is a unique talent with a plethora of skills.
DeJean can play either on the outside or in the slot at CB. He can also play safety and be used as a punt returner. DeJean is also a tough and physical tackler.
DeJean is has great play making ability when he has the ball in his hands. If, he gets his hands on the ball, he is looking to take it in for a touchdown.
DeJean and fellow rookie Quinyon Mitchell provide a bright future for the Eagles secondary and I look for both to make an impact on the defense in 2024.
