Kyle Schwarber's June Homer Festival Continues

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber blasted a solo homer with two outs in the eighth inning to put his team within one run of the San Diego Padres.

The Phillies went on to win the game in the bottom of ninth inning and now have a chance to sweep the series with the Padres this afternoon.

Throughout his major league career, Schwarber has dominated the month of June. He is like Babe Ruth when the calendar turns to this month.

Schwarber belted two home runs on Monday to lead the Phillies over the Padres. He has 6 home runs and 13 RBI with a .305 batting average for the month so far.

Over the last 7 days, Schwarber’s numbers are even better. He has 4 homers, 10 RBI and batting average of .407 in 27 at bats.

The 31 year-old Schwarber is one of the best sluggers in baseball. He is on his way to another 40 plus home run season.

June is his month and that trend is continuing. Schwarber is in a grove and looks completely relaxed and confident when he steps in the batter’s box.

For the season, Schwarber is hitting .257 with 17 home runs and 48 RBI. The Phillies have a 49-24 record and lead the National League East by 8 games over the second place Atlanta Braves.

The Phillies face the Padres this afternoon at 1:05 pm. Ranger Suárez will take the mound for the Phillies against the Padres Matt Waldron.
