32 Thoughts From Week Two of the 2019 NFL Season

1. ARIZONA CARDINALS (0-1-1)
Kyler Murray is looking more and more comfortable in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. They don’t have a win to show for it, but if improvements are made to the defense and O-line, the young coach and QB could be a force in the coming years.

2. ATLANTA FALCONS (1-1)
The Falcons were able to take advantage of a banged up Eagles squad for their first win. With Drew Brees out, the Falcon have a chance to take command of the NFC South if they can string together a few wins.
Julio Jones continues to show that he is worth every penny that the Arthur Blank and the Falcons throw his way.
3. BALTIMORE RAVENS (2-0)
Lamar Jackson has shown a world of improvement this season, and is an early candidate for MVP.
Lamar Jackson’s NFL rankings after two games:
— Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley) September 16, 2019
Passer rating: 145.2 (1st)
Comp. rate: 71.9 percent (5th)
Passing yards: 596 (10th)
Yards per att.: 10.46 (3rd)
TDs: 7 (t-1st)
Rushing yards: 126 (15th overall, 1st for QBs)
4. BUFFALO BILLS (2-0)
The Bills went down to the Meadowlands twice in two weeks to beat both the Jets and Giants. A good start for a team that many felt was a dark horse coming into the season.
5. CAROLINA PANTHERS (0-2)
The Panthers are currently in the NFC cellar and Cam Newton is not looking good (throwing the ball and fashion wise).

6. CHICAGO BEARS (1-1)
The Bears are able to steal a win in Denver, reversing their kicking woes from last season. They need Mitchell Trubisky to step his game up, however, if they are to repeat as NFC North champs.
7. CINCINNATI BENGALS (0-2)
Last week I wondered if this could be a surprise team this season.
Update: They cannot.
8. CLEVELAND BROWNS (1-1)
The Browns were able to take advantage of the depleted Jets and pull off a win on the road on Monday Night Football.
Odell Beckham Jr. is good at catching things.
Ok. @obj is good #MondayNightFootball#objpic.twitter.com/4ypmD2rqnt

9. DALLAS COWBOYS (2-0)
Dak and Co. look really good to start the year, averaging the 2nd most yards per game in the league so far, while beating two division foes to start the year.
10. DENVER BRONCOS (0-2)
After Joe Flacco ‘dinked’ and ‘dunked’ his way to an almost win, he has many wondering; is Joe Flacco elite once again?
He is not.
Was this a bad call?

11. DETROIT LIONS (1-0-1)
A nice fourth quarter win for the Lions. They needed it, as they play the Eagles, Chiefs, and Packers their next three games.
Also, I thought I knew about ties, but this guy schooled me on them. I don’t know anything anymore.
You can kinda tell by the wording they use, they don't mean it in a literal sense, it's just a way of quantifiying it for the mathmatic formula, because you can't really quantify it another way. I'm not a fan of ties in a 16 game season, it's a little silly
— ELF (@EnglishLionsFan) September 16, 2019
Apparently, technically the Lions are undefeated!
2 weeks into the season and these teams stand out amongst the rest 😤

12. GREEN BAY PACKERS (2-0)
After a six-win season last year, the Packers are starting to make some noise in the NFC. The defense dominated (two bad quarterbacks) in their first two wins. This team could be in the picture, come season’s end.
13. HOUSTON TEXANS (1-1)
I really don’t know what to think of this team. Are they elite? Are they bad? I have no idea. Maybe they are just an 8-8 team. Maybe that is all they will be under Bill O’Brien
14. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (1-1)
The Colts were able to eke out a win against the division rival Tennessee Titans.
No Andrew Luck? Run the football. The Colts are 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards per game and 31st in passing yards.
15. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-2)
This is their starting quarterback.
Bad Ass.
If you’re thinking “wow, this looks like a guy that stretches naked in the locker room”, it’s because he is a guy that stretches naked in the locker room.
Best part of Mike Leach’s Pardon My Take pod is we found out more about the Steve Spurrier-Gardner Minshew jock strap story.
— Brenna Greene (@BrennaGreene_) September 13, 2019
Spurrier came into the locker room after the Utah win & asked to see Easop Winston. They talked. Then Spurrier asked to see Gardner. Then this happened. pic.twitter.com/o1yeMEFpux
16. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (2-0)
They are good. Patrick Mahomes is good.
I keep thinking one of these will be intercepted and they just aren’t because Mahomes has a cannon. pic.twitter.com/Ry4ToWXm8y

17. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (1-1)
Too many mistakes to win on the road. Two missed kicks, penalties nullifying TDs, fumble at the goal line, and an interception in field goal range.
18. LOS ANGELES RAMS (2-0)
They have two wins against NFC foes. No Super Bowl loss hangover in LA apparently.
19. MIAMI DOLPHINS (0-2)
It’s too early to talk about this team going 0-16, but were going to do it anyway.
20. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (1-0)
Week One: Cousins 8-10 passing in a win
Week Two: Cousins 14-32 passing in a loss
As Cousins goes, this team goes, which is a very scary thought for Vikings fans.
21. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (1-0)
It’s too early to talk about this team going 16-0, but were going to do it anyway.
22. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (1-1)

Bad news for the Saints. They signed Teddy Bridgewater exactly for this scenario, we will see if it pays off.
They also got robbed by the refs against the Rams, again.

23. NEW YORK GIANTS (0-2)
When will the Eli Manning Era come to an end? If not now, when?
24. NEW YORK JETS (0-2)
The Jets lost Sam Darnold to Mono and Trevor Semenman, or how ever you spell it, to a broken leg. Luke Falk is currently the guy but we will see if they bring anybody else in.
25. OAKLAND RAIDERS (1-1)
They actually lead the Chiefs 10-0, before allowing 28 straight points in the second quarter. This team isn’t a complete disaster, so that’s good for them, right?
26. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (1-1)
The Eagles lost the game and lost half their team in the process.
#Eagles night of injuries (so far)
— Zack Rosenblatt (@ZackBlatt) September 16, 2019
– Carson Wentz (ribs, returned)
– Dallas Goedert (calf)
– DeSean Jackson (groin)
– Alshon Jeffery (calf)
– Nelson Agholor (head, returned)
– Tim Jernigan (unclear)
– Jason Kelce (unclear, returned)
They could struggle mightily to beat the Lions at home if they are missing this many key players.
27. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (0-2)
Breaking: Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger Will Miss Rest of 2019 Season https://t.co/iayhkD2gz1 via @ProSportsExtra
— Nik (@NikPSE) September 16, 2019
I think this team is done. I don’t believe Mike Tomlin will be coaching in Pittsburgh next season.
28. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (2-0)
Well Jimmy G and the 9er’s were able to pull off two East Coast wins to begin the season. Are they going to be able to keep it up in a division that features three 2-0 teams.
29. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (2-0)
Two close wins to start the year. D.K. Metcalf scored his first career TD.
Cue the DK Rap!

30. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (1-1)
A win on the road on Thursday night. That’s a huge improvement over their Week One implosion.
31. TENNESSEE TITANS (1-1)
This team was a dumpster fire this game!

32. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (0-2)
0-2, when will we see Dwayne Haskins as the starter?
