In an article by Jack Hall of the Radio Results Network (RRN), it is announced and reported that the 2020 U.P. State Fair is still happening as scheduled for now.

Hall stated in his article that the fair is putting together a series of ‘safe practices’ throughout the grounds, buildings, rides, etc., as part of their preparation.

The practices that are being trained for include limits on how much people will be allowed into each building and increasing space for each attraction, vendor, and live grandstand event happening that week.

“While we have hope for real freedom from all fear of the disease by then, we are also actively planning strategies to minimize risk and maximize enjoyment at the fair,” the fair said in their post. “UPSF management is working aggressively to put in place safe practices for the grounds, buildings, events, and rides.”

“Our determination comes from our desire and commitment to our exhibitors and UP community. Many exhibitors began working on their projects and displays months ago,” the fair added. “Meanwhile, after the loss of the school year and many other spring and early summer events, we are confident the UP will be looking for an opportunity to come together, celebrate, and fellowship together.”

This year’s fair is slated to start on Monday, August 16th and it will go through Sunday the 22nd.

The grandstand entertainment lineup will be announced within the next two weeks.
