Every Detroit Lions fan has been on social media complaining about the run game – well… lack of the run game. It’s not that offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell isn’t trying the run. It’s that everyone knows when it’s coming.
I’ve always said… If the fans know that it’s coming than the other team knows it too.
Besides the basic first or second down run with Adrian Peterson that isn’t going anywhere – I question why Detroit doesn’t use more presnap motion.
I watch other teams march up and down the field using more and more presnap motion.
Detroit? Maybe once a game. When they run a screen play. Why not send a guy in motion and then give the running back a hole to hit.
My issue with Detroit on 1st and 2nd down has been the predictable run. Obviously.— TREVSTONE – Trevor Uren (@TrevStoneCEO) November 2, 2020
How to fix it:
Other teams use more presnap motion to get the defense to have to adjust – send a receiver in motion. Move TE. Something. Just not the basic handoff. It’s not working. #OnePride
