The Phoenix Suns fired head coach Earl Watson today, after just three games into the 2017-2018 NBA season. Now, I’m all for mixing things up at an organization, but this guy didn’t even get a chance this season. Firing a guy this early is like a college student being told he failed a class after their first quiz. Sure, the first three games were ugly, but three games seems a little ridiculous, even for this “what have you done for me lately” mentality that coaching positions have evolved into.
However, maybe there were some other signs that we as fans didn’t recognize. Suns guard Eric Bledsoe tweeted this out just about an hour before news broke of Watson’s firing:
I Dont wanna be here

The news breaking of Watson’s firing had some interesting timing to it to say the least, causing a lot of speculation about what is actually going on in Phoenix. Here’s the tweet by Adrian Wojnarowski confirming the findings to ESPN:
Phoenix coach Earl Watson has been fired, league sources tell ESPN.

Needless to say, there are a lot of problems in Phoenix right now, which is disappointing considering the young talent they have started to acquire. Players like Bledsoe, Josh Jackson, and Devin Booker are nice young pieces to build around, but with the constant turmoil and now Bledsoe potentially asking for a trade, those pieces could be wasted, at least for the Suns.
So, with everything going on in Phoenix, we want to hear from you. Should the Suns look at trading Bledsoe for a veteran guy to help build the young talent? Who would be a good replacement for Watson as head coach? Can the Suns salvage these pieces, or will they have to start over yet again?
