During the week of organized team activities (OTAs) for the Detroit Lions, new wide receiver Danny Amendola took some time out to join the Detroit Tigers for an evening full of activities at Comerica Park.
Amendola was at tonight’s game against the Miami Marlins as a featured guest for the Tigers. He also got the chance to throw the ceremonial first pitch to right fielder Nicholas Castellanos.
In a tweet from Detroit’s Fox 2 Sports Twitter page, Amendola, batting from left side of home plate, hit a home run out to left field. He also took a shot at batting from the right side, only for the hit to end up near the warning track.
The ceremonial first pitch, captured by Tigers’ Twitter page, appeared to be a strike as he threw out a fastball to Castellanos prior to the game.
The clips of Amendola’s hits and the first pitch are viewable below.
