Throwback Thursday: Minor League Player Tells Umpire What He Really Thinks of Him

With the ESPY Awards occurring last night giving out honors for Best Team, Best Collegiate Player and Best Record-Breaking Performance, there should’ve been one award be considered for best meltdown out from any other sport.

During a minor league baseball game last August against the Chicago Dogs, Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks’ Brennan Metzger was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with then-home plate umpire Mike Jarboe.

Metzger was tossed out of the game mainly for saying, “You’re killing me!,” to the umpire. Then he delivers an expletive-filled rant and subliminal message on what he thought of the umpire all game long.

The video of Metzger’s full ejection and meltdown is listed in the link below.

Then he went on to explain in a post-game interview on why he brought out the trash can to begin with.

As of present day, Metzger is currently still playing for the RedHawks as an outfielder.

He was a 22nd round draft pick by the San Francisco Giants back in 2012.
