Tebow Cut by Eagles; Kelly Ends Tim’s NFL Career?

Chip Kelly decided to end his Tim Tebow experiment today as the Philadelphia Eagles cut the former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida.  The Eagles got down to the mandatory 53 players with his dismissal this afternoon.  The final roster in Philly will have Sam Bradford as it’s starting signal caller and Mark Sanchez has the backup spot.  The Eagles traded Matt Barkley to Arizona earlier in the week and many thought that Tebow would stick as the 3rd string QB in Philly. That didn’t happen and the Eagles will begin the regular season with only two QB’s on the active roster.

There is always a possibility that the Eagles could bring the great one from Florida back to the roster if injuries befell the Eagles at that most important position.  Bradford has a penchant for injuries and some suspect that he cannot go the complete season without getting hurt, especially if Chip Kelly wants to “run” Bradford in a zone read in his offensive system.  Bradford has the accuracy to be devastating in his completion rate, but it could all come to an end if Kelly decides to run him or if the offensive line doesn’t protect him.

Tebow is not expected to be picked up by another NFL team and this could spell the end of his playing career.  A gamer and a team favorite where ever he has played, he is expected to wait out the season, hoping to land a spot back with Philadelphia. Only time will tell if it’s curtains for him.
