The NFL’s has a huge emphasis on player safety, especially when it comes to hits to the head, the league added a rule that officials can force players to go to the sideline to receive medical clearance before returning to action.

The situation occurred during the Thursday Night Football game when Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was hit by a Cardinals defender in the head.

The referee called for Wilson to exit the field, which he did, only to go into the team’s medical tent and return to the game seconds later.
