Report: The Seahawks have signed Kicker Ryan Longwell.
- Updated: January 8, 2013
The Seahawks who are coming off a tough win against the Redskins and are about to face the Falcons have signed former Packers and Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell. This is not a bad move by Seattle all because he is a experienced kicker with a few more miles left in him. He is a distant kicker and may be needed against the Falcons if the Seahawks hope to beat the number one seeded team. He was cut from the Vikings team because of his age and because they moved on to now pro bowl rookie Blair Walsh.
Longwell hopes to prove to teams he still has a year or two left in him with this playoff appearance. This game could depend on a last minute field goal and the importance of getting three points on stalled out drives. The game will be in a loud Georgia Dome where the Falcons have been good this year. Seattle versus Atlanta, can Longwell pull it off with his new team?
