Redskins Rush Past Cowboys, Claim NFC East
- Updated: December 31, 2012
The most anticipated game of the week was nothing but a let down for many Cowboy fans. Tony Romo did the expected and failed when the ‘Boy’s needed him the most.
Romo threw 37 times, completing 20. He threw for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and 3 crucial interceptions.
DeMarco Murray rushed 17 times for 76 yards.
Robert Griffin III threw 18 times, completing 9. He threw for 100 yards.
Alfred Morris rushed 33 times for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Alfred Morris ‘ran’ away with this one, and broke the Redskin’s single season record for rushing yards, with 1,612 yards. Previously held by Clinton Portis.
The Redskin’s have made the playoffs with rookie leaders in rushing and passing yards, which was last done in 1943 by the Giants.
The Redskins earned themselves the NFC East Title for the first time since 1999, and a spot in the playoffs. They will face the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.
The Cowboys earned themselves a longer off season to recuperate and prepare for next years battles.
