Patriots Surge, Niner’s Hold on

NFL: San Francisco 49ers at St. Louis Rams

On a rainy Sunday night in Foxborough, Massachusetts the mighty New England Patriots took on the defense driven San Francisco 49ers. The Patriots come in averaging a whopping 425.7 of total offense, while the 49ers give up on average 275.5 of total opposing yards.

The 49ers got out to the early start and took a 31-3 lead with 10:26 left to go in the third quarter. The Patriots soon bounced back putting up 28 unanswered points to tie the game.

With just 6:33 remaining the 49ers needed something big, and that’s just what they got. Kaepernick connected with Crabtree on a 38 yard touchdown to make it 38-31. It was mostly Niners from here out scoring 10 of the last 13 points.

The 49ers defeated the Patriots on Sunday Night Football 41-34. I’d say the offense controlled the game with 520 yards, but the D held just long enough to survive!

Was this an early Super Bowl preview?
