After winning the Ted Lindsay award for the best player voted on by his peers, Nikita Kucherov has taken home the Hart Trophy and is the first Tampa Bay Lightning to be deemed the NHLs Most Valuable Player since Martin St. Louis in 2004.

In 82 games, Kucherov scored 128 points across 87 assists and 41 goals. That is the most by a Russian born player in NHL history and the most in over 10 years. He led the lightning to an NHL record 62 win season.

As for the other Bolts, Cooper and Hedman lost their respective nominations while Andrei Vasilevskiy won NHLs goalie of the year.
