NFL Week 2 Power Rankings

Week 1 in the NFL has come to a close and the Browns are undefeated!!!

NFL Week 2 Power Rankings

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0): Although the offense looked abysmal, the defense picked up right where they left off and held the normally high powered Falcons offense to only 12 points.
  2. New England Patriots (1-0): The Brady and Gronk connection was back in action this week as Gronk had 7 catches for 123 yards and a Touchdown, Patriots quietly roll past the Texans 27-20.
  3. Minnesota Vikings (1-0): Jimmy G’s first loss in the NFL courtesy of the Vikings defense that made him look like a backup QB again. Kirk Cousins was impressive in his first start in the purple and gold.
  4. Los Angeles Rams (1-0): Jon Gruden who? Rams Spoil the Gruden homecoming as they pounced on the Raiders in the second half on Monday Night.
  5. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0): Tyreke Hills speed combined with Patrick Mahomes arm will lead the Chiefs to the top of the AFC West this year.
  6. Green Bay Packers (1-0): Any time Aaron Rodgers is at QB for the Packers the game is never out of reach. Playing on one leg in the second half he led them furiously with a 4th quarter comeback to beat the Bears and ruin Khalil Macks HUGE first game.
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0): For most of the game the Jags D led the way and held Barkely to minimal yards except for one breakout 68 yard TD by the rookie.
  8. Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0-1): It’s too early to tell if Big Ben had just a bad game or is on the downfall of his career, but James Conner proved he can take the place of Bell with 135 yards rushing the ball and 2 TDs.
  9. Carolina Panthers (1-0): Christian McCafery will have a huge role in the offense this year, with a good first game under his belt, look for him to improve rushing the ball and not only on the receiving end from the backfield.
  10. New Orleans Saints (0-1): That offense is powerful but the defense was swiss cheese. Harvard grad Ryan Fitzpatrick tore the defense apart with 417 yards and 4 TDs.
  11. Baltimore Ravens (1-0): Do the Bills just suck or are the Ravens up to something, 47 points could be a fluke, we will have to see what Flacco brings Thursday night against a better Bengals team.
  12. Washington Redskins (1-0): With a duel headed monster in the backfield of Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson their run game will be a force this year. Alex Smith is a smart QB and knows how to take care of the ball, could the Redskins finally climb atop the NFC East??
  13. Atlanta Falcons (0-1): The offense was not in sync at all, defense looked average. Can Matt Ryan and Julio Jones carry this team on their backs once again?
  14. Los Angeles Chargers (0-1): I am not as high on the Chargers as most people but they have the pieces once Joey Bosa comes back to be a contender. The last two years they started the season 1-3 and 0-4 but finished with a strong second half. If they can break this streak they may have what it takes to get back to the playoffs.
  15. Houston Texans (0-1): Watson’s first game back did not go as planned only completing 50% of his passes, but the defense showed some aspects as to why they can carry them this season.
  16. Denver Broncos (1-0): If Case Keenum can play half as well as he did in the 4th quarter when he went 7-7 leading them to victory, the Broncos can keep themselves in the playoff hunt throughout the year.
  17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0): Fitzmagic was back at it again but give credit where credit is due as he had open receivers down the field all game long. Do the Bucs have a QB controversy brewing when Jameis Winston comes back from his suspension?
  18. Seattle Seahawks (0-1): Russel Wilson can keep the Seahawks in many games with his football IQ and mobility. Can Earl Thomas keep that defense in check all season to help Wilson out?
  19. Chicago Bears (0-1): After leading the packers by 20 and handing the game away in the second half scoring only 3 points, the Bears need a huge bounce back week in their home opener Monday night against the Seahawks. Khalil Mack made his statement on the game recording a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, interception and a touchdown.
  20. Dallas Cowboys (0-1): Not much to say here as the Cowboys mustered up a whopping 8 points on offense while Zeke had a tough time running the ball. The Cowboys need to figure it out and figure it out quick with a huge game against the Giants early in the season Sunday night coming up next week.
  21. San Francisco 49ers (0-1): I am not sold on Jimmy G yet, the Vikings defense proved he has many holes in his game as he made many poor throws. Do they take a look at signing Dez Bryant to help on offense?
  22. Tennessee Titans (0-1): A playoff team last year the Titans rebuild has slowly come to an end, can Mariota take the final leap into the top tier of QB’s? He has not looked good yet in pre-season play and got banged up week 1, can he regroup?
  23. Cincinnati Bengals (1-0): Marvin Lewis has seemed to lead the Bengals to be the most average team each year he has been there. Bengals are off to a good start after a nice road win against Andrew Luck and the Colts.
  24. New York Jets (1-0): 48 points was the most points the Jets have ever scored on the road. Sam Darnold threw a pick 6 his first pass of the game but calmed down nicely. Jamal Adams and the New Jack City defense had 5 interceptions and rattled Stafford all game. Is this a tease for Jets fans or was this a glimpse into the future?
  25. Miami Dolphins (1-0): The 35 year old Frank Gore seemed to be revived against the Titans running for an average of  6.8 yards a carry. This is Tannehills last shot to prove he can be a quality starter in the NFL.
  26. New York Giants (0-1): Eli Manning is old, the defense is nothing special, only two bright spots on the team are Odell and Barkley. Tough to win games when you only have two players leading the way for you. If they want to make a statement that they are contenders and not pretenders they go into Dallas who looked awful Sunday as well and crush them on national television.
  27. Oakland Raiders (0-1): Jon Gruden’s first game did not go as planned. He learned his lesson for sure about why you should not trade a defensive player of the year candidate as they let Gurley run for over 100 yards and Goff seemed to have all day to pass the ball.
  28. Indianapolis Colts (0-1): Andrew Luck being back on the field is a great sign for the Colts, I expect him to get into a rhythm moving forward keeping the Colts around a .500 team all year.
  29. Detroit Lions (0-1): Rumors swirling that Patricia lost the locker room back in training camp when he made them run sprints is not a good look for a first year coach after getting embarrassed on national television Monday Night. Hopefully Stafford isn’t too banged up as he looked injured throughout most of the game.
  30. Cleveland Browns (0-0-1): THE BROWNS DID NOT LOSE!! A completely new team and vibe around Cleveland had the Browns on the brink of a win but a chance at that was blocked as the Steelers blocked a game winning field goal with 5 seconds left.
  31. Arizona Cardinals (0-1): Bradford did not look good at all, I expect Josh Rosen to take the starting role a few games into the season. This could be the first of a few rebuilding years for a team that not so long ago had a lot of promise.
  32. Buffalo Bills (0-1): They Stink. A real potential for back to back 0-16 years in the NFL as the Browns did it last year and the Bills can copy them this year.
