NFL: Rookie of the Year Race

As many predicted the race for the NFL Rookie of the Year Award is a tough one. There are two standouts that really provide top grade stats. Both of these QB’s have their team in the hunt for a playoff birth.
Andrew Luck- #1 draft pick out of Stanford University. He has led his Colt’s to a 9-5 record. He has completed 308 of 564 (54.6%) passes including 3,978 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. He has also rushed 51 times for 223 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 fumble. He has a QB RAT of 75.5.
Robert Griffin III- #2 draft pick from Baylor University. He has led his Redskin’s to a 8-6 record. He has completed 223 of 351 (66.4%) with 2,902 yards, 18 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also has rushed 112 times for 748 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 9 fumbles. He has a QB RAT of 104.2.
Winner:
Robert Griffin III
But Why?
Robert Griffin has made more of an impact on the Redskin’s than Luck has on the Colt’s. Griffin has the ability to make plays in the air and on the ground. He has a 9:2 touchdown to interception ratio, which is better than Luck’s 10:9. Passing wise Luck is the better quarterback, but the better quarterback doesn’t always win.
