As if Cuphead fans weren’t already gushing over the greatness of Studio MDHR’s game already on the Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, now there’s an animated show coming – and we can’t wait to see what it has to offer.

Netflix and King Features Syndicate have announced today that a new series titled The Cuphead Show! will make its way to the streaming service, in conjunction with the development team behind the hit indie game. There’s no word on a release yet, but it’s currently in development.

The series will develop a style similar to the hit run-and-gun game, based on the Charles Fleischer cartoons from the olden days. That seems to have been a hit with fans, as the game has already cleared over four million copies sold. Between its old-school animations, its beautiful jazz-style score, and its tough gameplay, no wonder it’s a hit with such folks.

C.J. Kettler will serve as executive producer for the series, while Cad and Jared Moldenhauer with Studio MDHR are also on board as well. Netflix Animation and Emmy and Annie award winner Dave Wasson are also on the project, along with Rocko’s Modern Life’s Cosmo Segurson.

We’ll let you know as the series continues on in production, but this is no doubt good news for fans of the game. Previously, Studio MDHR announced that a new expansion for Cuphead, titled The Delicious Last Course, would come out next year as a free update.
