Mets, Davis avoid Arbitration

Davis hits a walk-off HR
The New York Mets and first baseman Ike Davis have avoided arbitration and settled on a deal. According to Adam Rubin of ESPN, Davis will earn $3.125 million in 2013. This is more than a $2.5 million upgrade, compared to his salary last year.
Davis will have three more years of arbitration eligibility before being eligible for free agency.
Davis had a very productive 2012 campaign. In 156 games, he hit 32 home runs and drove in 90 runs. Ike hit just .227 but last season was a good rebound year after the horrific, injury-filled 2011 he had.
With the walls coming in on Citi Field we could be expecting those power numbers to go up for the 25 year-old.
