March Madness player profile: Dillon Brooks

March madness is always a crazy time of year and this year is no different seeing multiple buzzer beaters and bracket busters and after another crazy weekend it is time for the sweet sixteen. One of those sixteen teams hopeful to claim the title is the number one seeded Oregon Ducks who narrowly beat eighth seeded Saint Josephs, 69-64 to move on, they will face the fourth seeded Duke Blue Devils (defending champions) this Thursday for a chance to move onto the elite eight. Oregon’s success is strictly tied to their star player, Dillon Brooks, whom put up a team best 25 points against Saint Josephs going an impressive seven-of-thirteen from the floor and hitting seven of his eight free throw attempts. Brooks had a stellar Sophomore season for the Ducks with a team best 16.8 points per game as well as a team best 3.1 assists per game. Brooks is a small forward who stands at 6’6″ and has helped lead Oregon to become a number one seeded team in the NCAA tournament. Watching the very tight game between Saint Josephs’s and Oregon and how Brooks shined in the spotlight was truly an honor to watch. Brooks has combined for 36 points so far in the tournament (18 per game) and looks to continue his success against the defending NCAA champion Duke Blue Devils and after his big performance against Saint Josephs’s it would be wise for Coach K to have his eye on this young star.Oregon v Arizona
